A Discussion about Video Production
Today’s technology has taken us to a different level where we are able to capture videos of things happening using our smartphones or cameras or so many other devices, therefore, video coverage is not something new to us. Video production is the process of producing video content and whereby images are able to be digitally recorded and not in film stock. We are going to look at how video production is done through looking at the various stages that it goes through which includes the pre-production, production, and post-production.
The first stage of video production which is the pre-production is before filming starts. The pre-production stage is whereby you do the preparation before the production actually starts and this involves writing of the script, putting up schedules, preparing a budget and other administrative duties. This stage is very crucial because without it there will be no production that will take place, because you require having the script written for you to have a play, you have to ensure that you have a budget that will control your activities and also have a program that will schedule and assist you on how you are supposed to do the production.
After dealing with the pre-production you come to the production part which is the center of everything and this is whereby you basically capture the video content or simply do the filming. This is a very sensitive area because it will portray the actual work that has been done during filming and live coverage and therefore it requires that you ensure that you have all the right professionals working with the cameras so that they can be able to capture everything as it should be captured. When the video coverage is trying to capture a live event whether it is a football match or a riot or something that is actually happening on the ground, they should be up on their feet because this is something that they are not able to control and will not wait for them to be ready for it to happen.
After the production, the stage comes the post-production stage and this is the final stage where basically everything is put together to try and come up with a video that will be able to tell a story or communicate whatever message that it was intended for whether it was a live event or a staged event. This is the stage that determines whether all the effort that has been put into the video is worth the while and whether you were able to portray whatever message that you were trying to put out there in the right manner. When it comes to this editing stage it is where everything lies and that therefore it has to be done with caution to ensure that the final video is the way it is supposed to be for its targeted audience.
